Everything was Going Fine, Until....

Fleetwood runs into a wall at Norchester Black

In the opening game of the season, our Fleetwood boys traveled to Pottstown's Scherful Field to take on league powerhouse Norchester Black. The contest started out pretty evenly with Fleetwood down 3-2 at the end of the third inning. By the fourth inning, though, it was clear that there was still some rust for Fleetwood to shake off as Norchester Black shot ahead and never looked back. In the end, the talent level on the two teams was much closer than the 11-2 final score indicated, and coach Solly felt there was much to build on.

Unfortunately, coach Boyle was not pleased. Not usually one to call out a player, coach Boyle named names after the loss, exclaiming "I think we should have gotten more out of Timmy Frey and Tyler Knauer. It's like the weren't even there!" I tried to explain to coach Boyle that they, in fact, weren't there, but he was in no mood for excuses.

Fleetwood's next opponent is Spring Ford White on Monday evening at home. Let's defend our home field now that the rust is gone!
